_____

To qualify for a UPS warehouse worker/ cover driver role, you must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid driver’s license issued by your state of residence (a CDL is not required; license requirements may vary by state). You must be able to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical, successfully complete a UPS driving test, and meet the physical demands of the role, including lifting up to 70 pounds. Your driving record will also be reviewed as part of the background check process.

It varies depending on the route but don't worry, you won't get bored!

Yes. This is a combo role and being a part-time warehouse work will serve as your primary assignment, with opportunities to work as a cover driver. Your day-to-day assignment will vary based on business needs such as package volume, staffing needs, and seasonal demand. You may rotate between warehouse and driving duties throughout the year—sometimes week to week, and other times spending extended periods in one role before transitioning to the other.

It depends on which role you are performing:

For the warehouse role we’re fairly flexible with what you wear so long as it’s comfortable and practical. Our only rules are no loose-fitting clothes, no shirts, hats or jackets with offensive themes, images or logos, and no loose or long jewelry.

When working as a driver, you'll be provided with a uniform, which includes our familiar brown shirts and pants.

For either role, you'll need to have a pair of shoes or boots must have sturdy uppers made of leather, man-made leather or similar protective material, provide good support and have non-slip soles. Examples of footwear that is not acceptable include tennis shoes/ sneakers/running shoes, loafers, and sandals.

We also encourage you to dress for the weather in your part of the US and recommend that you dress in layers so you can adjust to temperature changes throughout the facility and throughout your shift.

UPS offers excellent weekly pay, and employees are paid weekly. Pay rates may vary by location.

In a permanent role at UPS, you work year-round in either a part or full-time hourly position with the option sometimes to pick up additional shifts during our busy holiday season.

In a seasonal role, you may work part or full-time hours, but there will be a set end date to your position. You’ll likely be hired only to work during our busy holiday season which is typically from October to December. Hours can vary and some roles may require early morning or midnight shifts. To see if the role you’re interested in is right for you, please read the job description thoroughly!

You’ll have the opportunity to work in both warehouse and driving roles, but how you rotate between them depends on the location. In some locations, this rotation may occur week to week, with driving becoming more frequent during peak summer and winter seasons. In others, you may spend longer periods driving during busy seasons (summer and winter), then transition back to warehouse work during slower periods (spring and fall).

Driver training at UPS includes several steps designed to prepare you for the role. Before attending in-person training, you must complete and pass an online pre-course. You’ll be expected to memorize and demonstrate your understanding of UPS safety methods, both verbally and behind the wheel. You will then attend a required multi-day training program held at a designated location. After successfully completing this training, you’ll return to your assigned center for hands-on, personalized instruction to help you apply what you’ve learned on the job.

To work as a UPS Package Delivery Driver, you’ll need a valid driver’s license from the state where you live that allows you to operate a vehicle for employment purposes. A CDL is not required, it will generally be a standard state license, a chauffeur’s license, or a “for-hire” license depending on the state. Requirements can vary, so check with your local DMV.

A UPS warehouse is a fast-paced environment with conveyor belts, large machinery, and teams working together to sort and move packages efficiently. It's a busy operation focused on getting packages to customers safely and on time.

Job availability can change daily. If you don't see the position you're looking for, sign up for job alerts or check UPSjobs.com regularly for new openings. You'll also be able to see which locations are actively hiring and what opportunities are currently available.

You can reschedule your appointment using the application link that was sent to you by text message and email. Once you log in, you'll have the option to select a new appointment time.

The warehouse worker typically works 3.5 to 5 hours per day, Monday–Friday or Tuesday–Saturday based on operational needs.
A cover driver typically works 8 to 10 hours per day, Monday–Friday or Tuesday–Saturday - depending on traffic, location, and customer demand.
