You'll be provided a uniform, which includes our familiar brown shirts and pants. You'll need to provide your own comfortable, closed-toe shoes or boots with a sturdy upper and non-slip soles.

Package Delivery Drivers receive competitive pay, which is paid weekly. Additionally, overtime may be available in your location.

UPS Package Delivery Drivers need a valid driver’s license. You don’t need a CDL license.

Shifts are typically 8-10 hours depending on traffic, location, and customer demand.

In a permanent role at UPS, you work year-round in either a part or full-time hourly position with the option sometimes to pick up additional shifts during our busy holiday season.

In a seasonal role, you may work part or full-time hours, but there will be a set end date to your position. You’ll likely be hired only to work during our busy holiday season which is typically from October to December. Hours can vary and some roles may require early morning or midnight shifts. To qualify for a UPS Package Delivery Driver role, you must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid driver’s license issued by your state of residence (a CDL is not required; license requirements may vary by state). You must be able to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical, successfully complete a UPS driving test, and meet the physical demands of the role, including lifting up to 70 pounds. Your driving record will also be reviewed as part of the background check process.

Driver training at UPS is a structured, multi-step process designed to prepare you for the role. It begins with an online pre-course that must be completed and passed before attending in-person training. You will learn and demonstrate UPS safety methods, including both verbal knowledge and behind-the-wheel skills. This is followed by a required multi-day training program at a designated facility. After completing the program, you will return to your assigned center for hands-on instruction and continued coaching to help you apply your training in real work conditions.
