Office environment. Business casual dress. The CEO hires package handlers, driver helpers, feeder drivers, package car drivers and administrative support for Worldport and the Ohio Valley District. Five part-time supervisors conduct interviews most of the year with two additional interviewers added for peak holiday hiring.
Interviewers must quickly gain the knowledge and experience needed to conduct a thorough interview, ensuring compliance with all related employment regulations. On average, interviewers conduct three interviews each hour. They must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment that relies heavily on teamwork. Attention to detail and the ability to be thorough and efficient and the same time are critical attributes of a successful interviewer. While the position is part-time for most of the year, required hours increase significantly during the peak hiring season (Sept. - Dec.), including Saturday interviews.
Interviewers will conduct an interview and application review with applicants and determine if the meet UPS hiring criteria. The interviewer will determine what job is the best fit for the applicant and begin the process for background check, fingerprinting and drug screen.
Proficiency in MS Office Word, PowerPoint and Excel
HR/interviewing experience preferred. Knowledge of employment/ labor laws beneficial.
Strong communications skills. Attention to detail. Ability to work self-directed. Experience working with the public beneficial.
