Job Description:

The APAC Brokerage Solution Specialist assists in providing customized brokerage services and customs and trade compliance support to customers. He/She supports the identification of customers’ customs clearance requirements and help customers maintain compliance with cross-border regulatory requirements. He/She assists in facilitating the execution of customer engagements, management of reporting, management of exceptions and supports compliance training. He/She assists liaising between UPS stakeholders and the customer. He/She helps maintain customer satisfaction and resolve customer issues. This position is a regional role.

Responsibilities

Supports UPS Brokerage Solution Development

  • Works with various UPS functions to support development of UPS Brokerage Solutions.

  • Supports communication with and alignment of UPS stakeholders to support delivery of UPS Brokerage Solutions.

Assists with UPS Brokerage Solution Delivery

  • Supports the Trade Compliance Manager in preparing customer Requests for Information. 

  • Assists with preparing customer-facing reports and other documents in order to ensure they are clear, concise, and appropriate for the intended audience.

  • Helps ensure UPS Brokerage Solution meets customer requirements.

  • Assists in the creation of Standard Operating Procedures that document customer requirements.

  • Provides a single point of contact for customers related to engagement with UPS Brokerage Solution.

Assists with Providing Customs and Trade Compliance Support to Customers

  • Assists Trade Compliance Manager in helping customers build programs to identify customs and trade compliance gaps and to develop corrective actions in order to help support compliance with customs and other government agency regulations.

  • Assists Trade Compliance Manager in helping customers anticipate key regulatory requirements for new product development and market entry activities. 

  • Assists Trade Compliance Manager in helping customers map trade lane regulatory requirements.

  • Assists Trade Compliance Manager in working with customers to conduct trade compliance risk assessments.

  • Assists Trade Compliance Manager in supporting the delivery of training workshops on customs and trade compliance matters to customers.

  • Responds to Customers enquires for import and export compliance information

  • Attends trade seminars to facilitate audit process training and to expand knowledge of new compliance initiatives.

Assists with Providing Customs Clearance Support to Customers

  • Assists Trade Compliance Manager in preparing customers engagements for specific Customized Brokerage Solution.

  • Assist Trade Compliance Manager with implementation of customized operating procedures.

  • Assist Trade Compliance Manager in generating reports for quarterly business review with customers focusing on KPIs and metrics.

Requirements

  • Possess a Degree in Customs Administration, Business Administration or related fields.

  • Customs Brokerage license and/or training certification is advantageous and preferred.

  • Possess 1-2 years of experience in a customs and trade compliance role or customer fronting role is a plus.

  • Demonstrate strong project management skills and good presentation/communications skills.
