The GIS Specialist supports GIS and the Real Estate development team by providing location analysis, mapping and Real Estate services used in the day-to-day decision making of franchise sales development. The GIS Specialist creates reports using GIS tools such as ArcGIS Desktop, Business Analyst, ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Server. He/She works with cross-functional teams to deliver analysis reports and summaries to visually explain company initiatives. 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Gathers and analyzes data to identify the customers' expectation of mapping and GIS reports
  • Modifies, updates, and audits spatial datasets within ArcGIS online application
  • Partners with project stakeholders to discuss project solutions, timeframe/s and design options
  • Collects and assimilates raw data into reporting templates
  • Tests, troubleshoots and resolves enhancements to ensure development meets user requirements before implementation

Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge of ESRI ArcMap software suite of products (ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap 10.7, AGOL, ArcGIS Server, Business Analyst, etc.)
  • Understanding of Python scripting and development of automated geoprocessing tools
  • Selects appropriate geoprocessing tools for comparative and competitive analysis
  • Aptitude to create GIS documentation of processes and procedures
  • Ability to apply cartographic skills and understanding of mapping guidelines to customize map design/s
  • GIS training certificate - Preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree (or internationally comparable degree) in GIS or related field - Preferred
  • 1-2 years' database experience - Preferred
