The HR Talent Acquisition Specialist maintains and enhances relationships with recruiting sources for purposes of supplying adequate applicant flow to fulfill staffing needs in assigned areas. He/she acts fairly independent of supervision and effectively utilizes recruiting resources to achieve departmental goals and objectives. This position schedules, oversees and evaluates events, travels extensively throughout designated recruitment territories and attends scheduled events at schools and in the community.

Responsibilities

  • Recruits applicants to meet current staffing needs
  • Applies workforce planning knowledge to monitor hiring plans and devises recruiting strategies to achieve hiring goals
  • Develops, monitors and supports hiring initiatives to include affirmative action and retention goals
  • Researches, prepares and delivers presentations to large groups
  • Promotes employment, educational and career opportunities at UPS
  • Develops, enhances and maintains professional working relationships with key school and community contacts
  • Coordinates travel to recruitment events; schedules and attends recruiting events
  • Executes daily communication plans and conducts employment interviews while traveling
  • Evaluates effectiveness of events and return on investment (ROI) of previous events
  • Supports the UPS Corporate Mission and Strategy and maintains a professional appearance

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Must be willing to work flexible hours to include nights and weekends as dictated by recruitment events
  • Must have the ability to travel (including extended over-night travel) as necessary
  • Must be able to set up equipment required for recruiting events, drive to event locations, collaborate and work with other recruiters, and provide recruitment presentations in a public forum
  • Must have strong planning and organizational skills
  • Must have strong communication and public speaking skills

 Preferences:

  • Interviewing and Automated Employment (AE) applicant tracking system (ATS) experience is desired
  • Company travel and advertising experience is a plus
  • Experience utilizing Metro College or Earn and Learn programs with the ability to speak to personal experience is preferred
  • Knowledge of educational programs is a plus
  • Experience creating advertisement designs, writing published communication pieces and using UPS Style Guidelines is preferred
  • Knowledge and experience with social media outlets such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other web-based recruitment tools preferred
  • Graphic design and experience with design software technology is desired
