Distribution Implementation Mgr II
Job Summary
This position manages the overall project implementation (e.g., project communications, risk mitigation, resource coordination, issue resolution for projects encompassing multiple geographies, regions, districts, products, services, etc.). This role is responsible for defining the deployment strategy and obtaining sign-offs from the stakeholders. The incumbent works with Business and Information Technology to identify implementation criteria, design the implementation roll-out plan, manage post-implementation audits, and serves as the primary contact throughout the project's implementation. This position also manages multiple implementation teams and provides ongoing analysis of implementation project plans, statistics, outcomes, lessons learned, and post-implementation audits. The incumbent oversees managers/supervisors.
Responsibilities
- Serves as the project implementation primary contact and cross-functional team leader to identify implementation criteria, obtains stakeholder sign-off, and supports communications
- Implements plan definition for projects encompassing multiple geographies, regions, products, and services to ensure an effective project plan is delivered
- Collaborates with stakeholders to define criteria and constraints associated with implementation scope and deployment strategy to ensure an effective project implementation
- Develops deployment roles, responsibility definitions, deployment strategies, and obtains stakeholder sign-off to ensure an effective project plan
- Manages project lifecycles, including project scope, resources, schedule, initiation, start-up/design, building, and deployment to see projects from beginning-to-end
- Develops project plans (i.e., detailed plan, milestones, and work breakdown structures) and assigns tasks to resources to ensure that the project will be completed on time and according to specifications
- Ensures affected functions or groups are identified and works with them to negotiate process changes, ownership of processes, and to manage project impact
- Designs and implements communication plans to ensure those affected by projects are informed/updated
- Follows up with assigned resources formally (e.g., status meetings, etc.) and informally to continuously manage the productivity of the team, project timelines, and deliverables
- Balances multiple projects and deployment schedules to meet stakeholder goals/expectations

- Creates new budgets; identifies and takes corrective actions to bring areas in line with budget; allocates available funds
- Selects the most appropriate methods for conducting gap analysis and performance assessment; establishes performance measures (e.g. balance scorecard measures); investigates and determines root causes of performance problems; identifies areas for improvement in measures and measurement methods and makes recommendations for changes
- Uses multiple strategies to persuade others; identifies and removes barriers to agreements; wins concessions effectively; provides input into future negotiation processes/strategies
- Develops project management plans and leads the implementation for moderately complex/medium duration projects as well as basic programs; defines most of the initiatives project needs and cross-functional roles/responsibilities throughout the project life cycle; develops recommendations on best way to fulfill the project requirements given the current project and organizational dynamics; overcomes basic organizational resistance to cross-functional demands; demonstrates ability to successfully apply the project management discipline and remains current on project management practices/tools
- Develops/executes project management plans for basic projects of short duration requiring limited coordination and resources; supports initiatives with well-defined project needs and cross-functional roles/responsibilities throughout the project life cycle; manages minimal organizational resistance to cross-functional project demands; employs project management tools/technology (e.g., Microsoft Project, Program Management Group website, etc.)
- Defines business requirements for projects/processes; develops and validates components of routine projects, programs, or processes; ensures components meet design specifications; identifies root causes of typical development problems; pilot tests prototypes
- Integrates a broad knowledge of supply chains within customer organizations to solve complex customer problems; develops strategies to meet the customer’s supply chain needs
- Conducts standard analyses to identify problems in methods, processes, or workflow; interprets results of analyses and recommends solutions to address identified requirements, problems/inefficiencies
