Due to the career progression of two of our team and our ongoing growth in Australia we are seeking someone for an Inside Sales Executive position (Business Development/Account Management).

The individual we are seeking is a passionate, motivated and energetic seller. They would be able to maintain (account manage) an existing portfolio of UPS customers, build and grow relationships through working with those customers, as well as developing new customers identified by the business and themselves (business development).

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Existing Business

  • Manage, develop and grow a portfolio of customers within a geographic territory, across industries  
  • Develop and maintain multi-level relationships with our customers to better understand their business structure, industry and goals, to align these with UPS’ business goals and strategies
  • Proactively identify additional opportunities for growth in profitable business within the customer base, leveraging the full UPS portfolio of products and services
  • Collect and share competitive information from the territory and freight industry for broader sales team distribution and collaboration – to help maintain existing customer base.

New Business

  • Use established techniques, skills and tools to gather data and identify customer requirements including organisational structures, decision makers, the customers’ strategy and focus, their operational needs, to validate opportunities and evaluate the fit to express products and services.
  • Work with other internal (UPS) departments and stakeholders in developing solutions for clients.
  • Act as a customer advocate into the UPS business during solution development
  • Develop proposals and validate pricing to ensure customers’ expectations are effectively met
  • Present proposals to customers to demonstrate the value of our solutions and work with customers to achieve commitment and agreement with offers
  • Interpret tracking data and monitor account spend for clients to identify and address client’s changing needs.
  • Oversee client relationship pertaining to operational service and gather feedback

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 3+ years of internal or retail sales, and/or face to face account management/business development experience (working to sales targets)
  • Knowledge of and sales experience within the international logistics/express or freight industries or related domestic industries, is highly desirable but not essential.

  • Strong questioning and analytical skills

  • Highly self-motivated with ability to work effectively as part of a team,  and also autonomously

  • High level of self-accountability and ownership of results/outcomes  
  • A degree in a business or related discipline is preferred but not essential
