Job Description:

This position evaluates merger and acquisition (M&A) initiatives by developing financial models and valuations. This position executes M&A due diligence programs, participates in contract negotiations, and ensures post-closing obligations are fulfilled. This position analyzes financial profiles (e.g., financial records, liabilities, capital structure, etc.) of target companies to determine value and identify risks and synergy opportunities. This position assists with divestiture efforts.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assists the UPS Strategy group with market research to identify areas for inorganic growth
• Evaluates business plans and synergy estimates of UPS business units and potential target companies to create recommendations to UPS senior management
• Researches industry comparable to establish valuation and pricing benchmarks
• Quantifies material findings to determine offer price adjustments and continuance in contract negotiations
• Monitors post-closing contingencies to ensure fulfillment or price adjustments in the case of failed contingencies
• Conducts valuation analysis to establish sale price
• Identifies stakeholders/participants that should be involved in negotiations and demonstrates an understanding of each party’s objectives
• Generates reports in appropriate format using basic software and reviews reports to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Identifies business problems that require research and reviews literature and data related to the research question; summarizes information from data sources.

QUALIFICATIONS
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree or International equivalent

PREFERENCES:
• Bachelor’s Degree (or international equivalent) in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
• Possesses basic knowledge of risk management fundamentals
• Possesses knowledge of negotiation techniques
