UPS GBS (Global Business Services) is seeking an experienced Workforce Supervisor to work globally and cross functionally on workforce activities. This includes GBS work movement, setting staffing strategies, heavy data analysis and trend identification. If this sounds like your ideal career opportunity, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities and Duties

Region Workforce and Staffing Strategies

  • Coordinates GBS global workforce movement while working cross functionally with other groups and corporate, including managing initiatives and keeping project checklist up to date
  • Manages strategies to maximize talent and retention effectiveness for overall business planning and development
  • Provides awareness of external workforce trends impacting employees’ skills and abilities to ensure strategies are developed for adjusting to changing demographics

Diversity and Affirmative Action Programs

  • Creates and manages two AAP plans annually

HR Workforce Planning, Reporting, and Training

  • Analyzes global WFP data to identify trends and make recommendations
  • Tracks all GBS requisitions globally on a weekly basis and manages time to fill of 45 days
  • Collaborates with other functions to address changes to regulatory issues and implements changes to policies and procedures for ensuring compliance

Knowledge and Skills 

  • Understands how labor and employment laws impact specific job; describes current wage, hour, and benefit standards; identifies instances of non-compliance involving recruitment, interviewing, candidate selection, and discipline and follows procedures for resolving them; involves appropriate internal and external parties in resolving labor and employment issues
  • Applies knowledge of agencies functions and regulations to compliance and enforcement activities; identifies routine situations where the organization may be out of compliance as well as the specific impact of non-compliance
  • Utilize talent acquisition practices; adjust existing workforce plans to meet business need; describes the impact of internal and external forces on future workers required by the organization; applies knowledge of specific laws and regulations
  • Synthesizes information and facts to draw supported conclusion and insights; demonstrates logic, rationality, and objectivity in drawing conclusions, defining solution options and decision making
  • Develops plans that balance details and the “big picture”, adapts level of detail required for a given audience and the purpose; completes work with thoroughness; maintains records and information in an organized manner; audits available information for inconsistencies; maintain documentation that supports completion of work and attention to details/decisions
  • Conducts Research: Identifies the business problem that requires research; identifies sources of information that are relevant to a problem; reviews literature and data related to the research question; summaries information from data sources
  • Designs/Develops Integrated Solutions to Business Problems: recommends improvement to existing process or programs
  • Detail Oriented: Distinguishes between “big picture” concepts and comments and specialized, smaller specific facts associates with work; notes the specifics of events and experiences; explain in general how details impact and goals or outcomes; ensures that work is completed accurately and with the appropriate level of detail
  • Project Management: Demonstrates understanding of implementation objectives, project plan, and one’s role within a project; participates in the implementation of a project; provides timely, thorough, and concise updates for area of responsibility; identifies are of risk and properly communicates them to the project manager
