Job Summary

UPS is seeking a dynamic Communications Strategy Supervisor to assist with developing effective, measurable communications strategies for employees companywide to drive business results. Does this sound like your ideal career opportunity? If so, we want to hear from you!

This role in concert with the Campaign Strategy Manager, works with Employee Communications Business Relationship Managers to determine scope, messaging, audience and budget for client projects. The incumbent identifies appropriate mix (e.g., feature stories, memos, posters, videos, etc.) and timeline of communications deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • Works closely with the Director of Change Management and Transformation Leadership to progress key change initiatives
  • Develops content for global reach on UPS Change and Transformation program implementations
  • Organizes and assists in facilitating focus groups aimed at deriving organizational sentiment around wildly important initiatives and developing action plans to address risks
  • Develops and maintains detailed project plans using PMI best practices, Enterprise One/project Place, MS Project or Excel
  • Works closely with Corporate Communications and the Transformation Office to align change methodologies to all in-flight initiatives
  • Develops and proofs final copy communications content for consistency with organizational standards/practices
  • Provides creative solutions to complex organizational transition plans impacting UPS employees
  • Develops change activities and executes tasks related to stakeholder engagement, change network launches, business impact assessments and training assessments
  • Focuses on execution of change and communication plans developed by leadership
  • Maintains change and communication plan and weekly status report development
  • Provides input to change tasks and activities, making recommendations for best practices to deploy
  • Shares ownership of the creation and execution of content development with UPS’s Corporate Communications resource
  • Assists change team in developing change capabilities within the larger enterprise by conducting learning sessions and modeling change practices/behaviors

  • Demonstrates ability driving data analysis, implementing strategy, building alignment around a vision, stakeholder and business leader communications
  • Displays skills in the development of presentations, survey questionnaires, collection of data, analysis of data and storytelling using data
  • Provides coaching and training to employees at all levels
  • Defines success metrics and measuring performance 
  • Provides reporting and other updates to management and project teams
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs
  • Minimum 5 years of experience using change and communications methodology and best practices
  • Experience working in end-to-end program management and large-scale change management efforts across multiple functions
  • Demonstrates experience working in cross-functional collaboration for large complex people programs
  • Experience prioritizing needs with reason and solutions across multiple teams
  • Displays experience identifying gaps and improving processes/programs
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the different channels available for communication
  • Experience developing project management plans and leading the implementation
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of techniques for soliciting and gathering information
  • Experience recognizing the importance of understanding global and cultural diversity
