Job Title:   Aircraft Maintenance Line Supervisor

Department:  Aircraft Maintenance – ANC Gateway, Anchorage, Alaska


Job Description: 
The Line Maintenance Supervisor ensures the completion of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of UPS aircraft. Assigns the maintenance workload, verifies maintenance plans and availability of parts and tools, ensures compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, and collaborates cross-functionally to ensure maintenance is completed on-time. This position monitors Aircraft Maintenance Technician (AMT) completion of tasks, reduces AMT downtime, and ensures fully trained AMTs to achieve targets for completing maintenance work. Responsible to manage time and attendance, payroll, overtime (OT), AMT schedules, and recordkeeping to ensure an efficient operation. This position supervises Aircraft Maintenance Technicians.


Required Skills:

  • Current and valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant license.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Minimum three (3) years heavy jet maintenance experience. 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work different shifts including nights and weekends.
  • Must be able to travel to different gateways.


Preferred Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation related field. 
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience supervising Flight Line Maintenance employees. 
  • Experience using MEL (Minimum Equipment List), AMM (Aircraft Maintenance Manual) and GMM (General Maintenance Manual).
  • Knowledge of Impacts, Aircraft Router and ADMS.
  • Able to travel internationally (passport will be required).


Interpersonal Skills: 
Be able to clearly communicate complex issues in a concise manner both written and verbal.  Be able to work well in a team environment with a variety of people.  Be dependable and a self-starter and display initiative in all areas.  Must be able to prioritize workload to meet time sensitive deadlines. Must be versatile in approach when addressing multiple issues of varying complexities and subject matter. Must be able to provide leadership and direction to a labor workforce to maximize productivity and ensuring necessary resources are available.


Federal Aviation Administration required Drug Testing Information (FAA):

As part of the UPS safety sensitive position, a drug-screen is required. UPS must receive a negative test result before you can be put into a safety sensitive position (14CFR Part 120.107 (a) 4.)
