Senior Applications Developer

About Applications Development at UPS Technology:

Our Application Development teams use their expertise in programming languages and software design to develop next-generation technology. They are responsible for developing the applications which track and move up to 38 million packages in a single day (4.7 billion annually). This team works closely with all of our customers to build innovative technologies that are customized to drive our business and provide the ultimate customer experience. As a member of the applications development family, you will help UPS grow and provide valuable services across the globe.

About this role:

The Senior Applications Developer must have thorough knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, Apache Camel and Microservices Architecture. At least 5 years of experience with Web Services (SOAP and REST), SMTP, FTP and MQ. Experience with, CI/CD pipeline and familiarity with OpenShift or Kubernetes is a plus. The senior developer will collaborate with other teams, guide application deployments, mentor junior team members and participate in code reviews. He/She must be self-motivated, dependable, proactive, organized and a strong team player.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience with Agile Development, Web Services (SOAP and REST), SMTP, FTP and MQ
• Knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, Apache Camel and Microservices Architecture
• Familiarity with Attention to Detail, Self-Motivated learning and Team Leadership & Motivation
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or the equivalent in education and work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
