Job Description:


The VAT Manager will play a crucial role in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa) VAT department, overseeing and ensuring compliance with VAT regulations in various countries.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating the preparation of VAT returns in collaboration with external tax advisors and local teams to ensure accurate and timely submissions.
  • Analyzing VAT data, identifying trends, and promptly addressing any discrepancies.
  • Managing queries and notifications from tax authorities, coordinating the VAT return correction process.
  • Handling tax audits efficiently and effectively.
  • Tracking changes in VAT laws across EMEA countries and advising stakeholders on necessary solutions to enhance VAT processes for compliance.
  • Providing internal VAT advisory support.
  • Creating and updating internal tax procedures, as well as implementing control tools.
  • Continuously working on improvements and implementing new solutions for VAT processes.


To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:

  • University degree in Business discipline (Accounting, Law etc.) and/or Masters in Taxation.
  • Professional Qualification in Tax
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a big 4 advisory firm in indirect tax (VAT).
  • In-depth knowledge of VAT legislation and statutory accounting requirements.
  • Experience in Oracle ERP
  • Highly proficient in Excel.
  • Fluency in English, proficiency in one or more languages of Eastern Europe is considered a advantage for this role.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Analytical thinking, attention to detail and a problem-solving attitude.
  • Organized with the ability to deliver results within short timelines.
  • Proactive with an initiative-driven mindset and the ability to 'connect the dots.'
  • Excellent teamwork skills.
