About Applications Development at UPS Technology:

Our Application Development teams use their expertise in programming languages and software design to develop next-generation technology. They are responsible for developing the applications which track and move up to 38 million packages in a single day (4.7 billion annually). This team works closely with all of our customers to build innovative technologies that are customized to drive our business and provide the ultimate customer experience. As a member of the applications development family, you will help UPS grow and provide valuable services across the globe.

About this role:

The Lead Applications Developer will work on ACMX applications. The successful candidate will be responsible for technical analysis, design, development, implementation, and execution of test (unit, service, service integration, service performance, security) of the integration points on a multitude of applications that UPS built, vendor owned, and technical debt.  He/She analyzes requirements and validates appropriate solutions have been designed, as well as provide knowledge, support, and guidance to application team for applications development, integration, and maintenance.

This position will work closely with several ACMX teams, such as Line Maintenance and Aircraft Engineering, Aircraft Safety and Documentation, Airline Materials and Distribution, as well as vendor teams. This position requires Java, Oracle or SQL Server expertise. This position requires technical and soft skills for meeting responsibility for integrating vendor(s) and UPS built products. The ability to work in a team environment and bring their software development experience will allow the guidance and input in the team's day-to-day, peer reviews, and code perspective. The candidate will have excellent problem solving, communication and planning skills, as well as solid ability to pick up on legacy applications will be a plus.

 Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience with Agile Development, Java Programming, Object Oriented Analysis & Design, Oracle and SQL & PL/SQL,Jenkins, Openshift
• Knowledge of Project Management and Technical Analysis
• Familiarity with Accountability, Leadership skills and Team Leadership & Motivation
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Bachelor's degree and/or Master's degree in Computer Science or related discipline or the equivalent in education and work experience
