Job Description:
The Flight Control Shift Supervisor works in a fast-paced environment in the UPS Global Operations Center. Various rotating work schedules and hours. Reports to Flight Control Manager on daily airline operations and is responsible to ensure Flight Control department adheres to all applicable FAA regulations and Company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities include:
- Identify and analyze any conditions that may affect any part of the airline system, and formulate necessary operational plans that maintain the integrity, safety and efficiency of flight operations.
- Ensure sufficient Flight Control staff and equipment are available and properly functioning as necessary to conduct safe and efficient airline flight operations on each shift.
- Verify that all flights are correctly assigned to Dispatchers.
- Implementation of Flight Operations contingency plans when interruptions to the Airline's activities occur.
Required Skills:
- Must possess an FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate with at least 5 years of dispatch or related experience.
- Must have a minimum of 1 year management experience and knowledge of airline operations.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Lido, WSI, Fusion, AeroData and Flight Explorer.
Interpersonal Skills:
Strong managerial skills and ability to concurrently handle multiple responsibilities. Ability to manage people.
Additional Notes:
As part of the UPS pre-employment process for a safety sensitive position. A drug screen is required. UPS must receive a negative test result before you can be put into a safety sensitive position (14 CFR Part 120.107 (a) 4).
Please be advised that you will be tested in accordance with 14 CFR Part 120.107(5) Sub Part E to determine the presence of the marijuana, cocaine, opiates (including codeine, heroin-6AM, morphine), opioids- hydrodone, hydromorphone, oxycodone & oxymorphone, phencyclidine (PCP), and amphetamines/methamphetamines (including MDMA, MDA) or metabolites of these drugs.
Dispatcher competency exam after conclusion of training.
