Work Environment:  A comfortable office environment with cubical, desk, computer with another analyst and two supervisors. Location is the SDF AGB

Job Summary:  The Component Reliability Analyst analyzes aircraft component data and issues to discover potential aircraft and component problems and their root causes and to improve reliability. He/She identifies component and aircraft trends. This position helps develop and implement improvements and corrective action plans that reflect technical, utilization, cost-savings, and reliability priorities. He/She serves as a liaison for internal and external groups to resolve technical, quality, repair, warranty, and financial issues related to aircraft component reliability.

Job Description:  Supports Aircraft Component Reliability - Communicates with aircraft repair vendors and internal departments to advise on potential aircraft and component issues. Monitors potential problem components after repair. Participates in various internal and external review sessions. Ensures time-sensitive and cost-effective completion of component modifications, replacements, and airworthiness directives. Works closely with Aircraft Technical Services and Line Maintenance.

Analyzes Aircraft Component Data - Reviews out-of-service and delayed aircraft data to identify component and aircraft issues. Identifies chronic problem components to develop economically-sound corrective action recommendations. Analyzes various component reliability reports to recognize trends and identify root causes of failed components. Examines reported service failures to determine whether service failures were related to potential and actual problematic components. Leverages data available via other departments to help troubleshoot potential component problems.

Gathers, Maintains, and Reports Aircraft Component Data - Gathers component data to enter into component reliability databases. Creates and maintains component databases to track, analyze, and report on pertinent reliability factors and to enable access for others. Distributes reliability reports to internal and external customers to communicate potential and identified component and aircraft problems.

Investigates Aircraft Component Alerts  - Researches Component Category II and III Alerts to validate and determine originating causes of alerts and component solutions .                                           
 
Required Skills:  Associate Degree in Technical field. Intermediate level with computer software including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Internet Explorer and Acrobat Pro.  Knowledge and experience with UPS system to include - MIPS, QA LAN, IMPACTS, ARMS, ADMS, BI Tool and Flight History.   

Additional Skills:  Bachelor's Degree or Intl Equivalent - Aviation and /or A&P Preferred. Knowledge and experience with UPS aircraft, aircraft systems and manuals. Have excellent communication skills (written and oral), conflict resolution skills and strong analytical and problem solving skills. Must possess good customer service skills including decision making, multi-tasking, organizational skills, and can work in a team environment. Must be customer focused and detail oriented.   UPS Aircraft Materials knowledge is useful.                                            
                
Interpersonal Skills:  Have the ability to handle stressful situations and be able to work with little direct supervision.  Must be dependable, flexible, open-minded and willing to learn and grow with the department.  Is able to project confidence in the course of their duties.  Highly motivated, positive and persistent team player. Enjoys continuous learning.
