Job Summary: This position responds to FAA correspondence, coordinates Voluntary Self Disclosures and coordinates response to FAA requests. Conducts research and analysis, understands and interprets relative regulatory guidance material to develop procedures and executable plans to meet requirements. Writes technical documents and letters to express ideas clearly and concisely to meet business objectives. Interprets and communicates complex regulatory information with ability to educate others not familiar with subject.
Job Description: The position serves as a primary point of contact for FAA activities and communication with Aircraft Maintenance and Engineering functions. This person performs investigations to determine root cause, performs analysis of regulatory/procedural related issues, performs risk assessments, and develops corrective action plans that address root cause to mitigate risk. This position audits technical records supporting airworthiness of aircraft, and inspects aircraft and parts and materials to verify compliance with FAA and UPS requirements. This position coordinates with Maintenance & Engineering partners (e.g., Aircraft Engineering, Line Maintenance, Aircraft Maintenance Control, Fleet Operations Group, etc.) to assist with implementing corrective action plans. Drafts specialized or technical documents; tailors written communication to fit various audiences; demonstrates the appropriate use of visual elements (e.g. tables, graphs, diagrams, schematics, flowcharts, etc.); plans and edits content and structure of others’ technical documents. Supports processes related to Continuing Analysis & Surveillance (CAS). Interprets regulatory guidance material to propose executable processes and solutions for business units.
Required Skills: Airframe & Powerplant License; Bachelor’s Degree; Minimum 3 years Aircraft Maintenance QA experience relative to job description; Excellent written and oral communication & presentation skills.
Additional Skills: Prefer experience with: Root cause analysis and performing risk assessments; statistical analysis; Quality Control processes (Required Inspection Items (RII), receiving inspection, NDT, etc.); requirements and working knowledge of 14 CFR 121.373 Continuing Analysis & Surveillance System (CAS).
