Designated Representative/Pharmacy Technician

UPS is seeking an experienced and dynamic Designated Representative/Pharmacy Technician to support operations in our distribution and logistics network. If this sounds like your ideal opportunity, we want to hear from you!

The Designated Representative/Pharmacy Technician monitors and coordinates operations to ensure all service metrics are met on a daily basis. He/She implements and provides training on operational processes to meet regulatory requirements and maintain compliance. The Designated Representative/Pharmacy Technician assists customers with requests for information and supplies, and provides management with compliance data, financial, and operational data. He/She provides guidance to internal and externally sourced employees, including drivers, and communicates healthcare policies and objectives, and assists with procedures, documentation, and reports.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Participates in weekly operations calls to share information, seek assistance with unresolved issues, and share best practices
  • Supports implementation of training programs/materials for RA and internal clients on standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and regulatory topics
  • Assists with writing and revising SOPs and work instructions to ensure proper procedures are followed
  • Consults with internal groups (e.g., Operations, Client Services, Business Development, Information Technology, etc.) on healthcare issues and procedures to ensure healthcare compliance
  • Interprets regulations and procedures for clients to ensure compliance
  • Interfaces with client RA departments to coordinate client activities/review of policies and procedures, and determines specialized requirements

Knowledge and Skills

  • Detail oriented with ability to see the big picture and complete work at the appropriate level
  • Understanding of agencies' functions and regulations to compliance and enforcement activities with ability to identify non-compliance situations and the overall business impact
  • Ability to generate reports, ensure accuracy and completeness, and identify issues (e.g., missing variables, incorrect data, etc.)
  • Analytical with ability to solicit and gather information from appropriate sources
  • Understanding of supply chain concepts with ability to identify problems and recommend solutions
  • Must have at least one year of paid work experience within the last three years at an employer licensed by the California Board of Pharmacy, in distribution or dispensing of drugs and/or medical devices
  • Bachelor's Degree - Preferred
  • Licensed Designated Representative with the California Board of Pharmacy - Preferred
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician with the California Board of Pharmacy - Preferred
