Trailer Technician 27.40/hr
Job Summary
This position maintains a diverse range of equipment including delivery vehicles, heavy duty machinery, on road tractors, and trailers from a variety of manufacturers. This role troubleshoots and maintains/repairs various systems including hydraulic brakes, air brakes, electronics, and engines. The incumbent performs other tasks as requested. An attractive pay and benefits package is offered. Uniforms are provided. The candidate posseses all personal tools required to perform the job and will be required to appropriate necessary hand tools as required by job assignment.
Responsibilities
- Diagnoses and performs necessary repairs to non-power equipment, including air brake systems and electrical systems
- Bends, stoops, squats, kneels, crouches, crawls, climbs ladders and stairs, stand, walk, and turn/pivot frequently throughout the duration of the workday
- Reports to work on a regular and timely basis and complete the scheduled workday on a consistent basis
- Works varying shifts, additional hours and/or overtime depending on service needs
- Lifts, lowers, pushes, pulls, leverages and manipulates equipment and/or packages weighing up to 70 pounds
- Assists in moving packages or equipment up to 150 pounds
- Performs simple hand grasping, power hand grasping, fine hand manipulation, reaching from foot level to above shoulder level as necessary to complete assigned tasks
- Operates standard/manual transmission
- Wears personal protective equipment
- Operates power, pneumatic tools
- Works in an environment with variable temperatures and humidity (climatic conditions), exposure to cleaning materials, petroleum products, dust, dirt, and noise, outside inclement weather
- Works cooperatively in a diverse work environment
- Communicates, through sight, hearing, and/or otherwise, to perform assigned tasks and maintain proper job safety conditions well
- Meets D.O.T requirements and be CDL qualified as required by job assignment
- Meets all requirements to be Power Industrial Truck Operations (PITO) certified
- Current documented trailer mechanic experience
- Experience using diagnostic equipment, scan tools and personal computer
- Possesses ability to sit infrequently throughout the duration of the workday
- Willing to work 2nd or 3rd shift (shifts include: Monday through Friday and Sunday through Thursday and Tuesday through Saturday)
