As a developer at UPS you code functionality for highly complex IT Systems used worldwide. You collaborate in a scrum team and support emerging technologies and processes like CI/CD and DevOps to ensure effective and efficient achievement of objectives. Your primary role is to perform full system life cycle activities (e.g. analysis, technical requirements, design, coding, testing and the implementation of software).

What do you do on an average day?
• You work with the scrum team towards the goals agreed to, ensuring the work delivered is professional and up to agreed standards, to include
o Provide designs matching the underlying frameworks and concepts
o Build efficient, testable code units
o Identify and integrate shared software pieces to produce expected deliverables
o Provide unit tests as part of the code
o Review and help with all of the above for your junior team members.
• Lead peer reviews to ensure requirements are met
• Works on the CI/CD pipeline, perform build processing and application delivery
• Support build-up of the backlog for the future releases in weekly planning meetings, decide on workload and discuss design topics.
• Ensure products conform to quality and content standards.

What do we expect of you?
• Education: minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Computer science, Information Systems Management, Business studies or Information technology
• Scrum master certificate is a plus
• Experience: 5-8 years of IT experience in various development positions preferably in an agile environment, experience in logistics and knowledge of Brokerage is an advantage
• 5-8 years of experience with relevant software engineering technology (Visual Studio, C#, Client-Server, SQL Server, XML and HTML) are required. Knowledge of additional technologies is desirable.
• Experience with structured SDLC and work estimation techniques.
• Analytical and problem solving. Motivated to self-learning and deepen your understanding of the fields you’re assigned to.
