General Ledger Accounting Supervisor II

The Regional Statutory Entity Reporting Support Supervisor is responsible for facilitating the ACR’s reporting objectives within his/her GAC (Global Accounting Center), including compilation of supporting materials for statutory reports, assisting with statutory audits, and consolidating monthly entity-level reporting for Finance. The ideal Regional Statutory Entity Reporting Support Supervisor will have basic knowledge of GAAP requirements, understand the audit process, and provide customer support to regional Finance teams.
The Regional Statutory Entity Reporting Support Supervisor will directly support the Regional Statutory Entity Reporting Manager by ensuring all supporting materials for the statutory reports are available in a timely manner, and providing the regional Finance teams with timely entity-level reporting that includes required financial information. The supervisor will also oversee specialists and their fulfillment of job duties.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Responds to inquiries from Statutory Lead with explanations referencing local GAAP requirements
- Manages STAR pack checklist and reconciliation template
- Reviews monthly statutory (T-Company) JEs required for financial statements (US GAAP to local GAAP)
- Reviews and drafts response to the auditor’s Letter to Management as requested by Statutory Lead
- Reviews and posts audit adjusting journal entries as directed by the Statutory Lead
- Manages fulfillment of pre-audit requests as determined by the external auditor including Provided by Client (PBC) list, PARS, and journal sample returns
- Reviews consolidated variance analysis and follow-up with specialists or BPO management Team as needed
- Serves as a partner to business owners of assigned entities and facilitate monthly pre/post close calls to debrief on entity business/finance activity, provides context for variability during reviews, and shares key decisions made
- Reviews entity close packages for assigned regions
- Monitors Pension accounting
- Monitors Intangible accounting
- Monitors local GAAP compliance
Knowledge and Skills
- Demonstrates knowledge of local to US GAAP differences
- Works with external auditors to perform an audit, remediate issues, and produce variance analysis
- Prepares variance reports
- Utilizes strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills and data analysis
- Works with key customers to understand local customer and market differences
- Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment
- Demonstrates strong business acumen and ability to work effectively across teams, levels and varying cultures
- Seeks diverse views to encourage improvement and innovation
- Manages a team of 3-5 team members
- Minimum of 3 years' finance and accounting experience including audit and/or reporting, with exposure to international regulatory and compliance matters
- Minimum of 1 year relevant experience leading global teams
- Knowledge of GAAP
- Ability to communicate effectively and succinctly, both verbally and in writing
- Master's Degree (or internationally comparable degree) in Finance or Accounting - Preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree (or internationally comparable degree) in Finance or Accounting - Preferred
- Certified Public Accountant - Preferred
