The Buildings and Facilities Assistant Manager assists the Asset Manager with buildings and facilities projects. He/She supports the Real Estate and Facilities Committee (REFCO) process through gathering requests, evaluating projects, and providing alternatives and recommendations to the Asset Manager for submission to REFCO. This position contributes to the development of ten year projections and planning and supports the Asset Manager in working with real estate groups on lease renewals, purchase opportunities, and building expansions. He/She collaborates with various functions on projects and determines equipment needs for business units.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gathers project details to ensure procedural requirements are met and presents project at REFCO

  • Supports the development of buildings and facilities by validating the current capacity and volume forecasts

  • Communicates with cross-functional groups by setting right expectations on projects and holding the corresponding parties accountable

  • Develops real estate requirements with different business units and groups; supports and advise on necessary lease renewals, purchase opportunities, and future building expansions, and make sure they fit in with the company’s five-year plan

  • Determine the appropriate quantity of equipment orders and support Asset Managers on developing RFAs to present to REFCO to solicit approval

  • Manage projects lifecycles by defining project scope and resources, timeline, etc, and implement plans with appropriate parties to ensure timely and proper execution on building and facilities projects


Basic Requirements

  • Degree holder in Business or Engineering preferred

  • An agile, proactive problem solver who can work independently

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

  • Prior project management experience is necessary

  • Knowledge on freight forwarding/logistics operations

  • Able to communicate with people from different levels of the organization

  • Good command of spoken and written English, Mandarin is a definite advantage
