Job Description:

Purpose of the job:

The UPS Europe Region Legal Department, based in Brussels, Belgium, is looking to hire an additional mid-level attorney with particular experience in commercial contracts to work in the customer contracts group (CCG).

Job Profile:

Your role will consist of:

  • Reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements with the company’s largest customers in Europe

  • Liaising with internal stakeholders and management

  • Setting out the strategy and working on continuous process improvements of the CCG

Your Profile:

  • Fully qualified lawyer; at least 3 years post-qualification experience (either at a law firm, or in-house at a company) preferably in a European jurisdiction

  • Significant commercial contract work experience

  • Strong business and analytical skills – problem solving ability

  • Strong relationship management skills

  • Experience of working in an international and multicultural context

  • Fluent in English, other European languages are desirable

  • Good drafting, negotiation and communication skills

  • Flexible, dynamic, pragmatic, hands-on, easy-going, but structured and disciplined at the same time

  • Enthusiastic to be part of the business process

  • Drive for result and stress resistant

  • Client oriented, with the ability to collaborate with different types of people, both within the company and customer organizations

  • Able to work both independently and in a small team

  • Willing to travel when required

  • Creative and logical thinker; strategic mind set

  • Deductive reasoning skills; able to translate findings into conclusions and recommendations

  • Strong work ethic and high degree of accuracy; eye for detail; accountable

  • Perform well under pressure; ability to meet tight & continuous deadlines

  • Able to build strong relationships with both internal and external business partners

  • Excellent skills in MS Office; Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word

  • Excellent presentation and writing skills
