Job Summary

UPS is seeking an energetic and dynamic Intern to join our Buildings and Systems Engineering (BaSE) team during the upcoming semester. If this sounds like your ideal opportunity, we want to hear from you!

As a Systems Design Intern, you should demonstrate advanced drafting skills, with competence using Autodesk software. The required skills include the use of AutoCAD, Inventor with Factory Design Utilities, and Navisworks Manage. Primary tasks will include the development of 3D assets with parametric features for our Standards Library, editing existing 2D and 3D drawings, and developing new 3D assets and designs. This position performs other career related responsibilities as assigned.


  • Develops and maintains 2D and 3D conveyor components using autodesk software
  • Produces 2D sheet sets for contract documents
  • Develops/edits conveyor designs utilizing these 2D and 3D components
  • Collaborates with multiple engineering disciplines
  • Maintains and meets project schedules


  • Possesses excellent communications (written/oral) and interpersonal skills
  • Displays ability to distinguish between “big picture” concepts and detailed facts, while ensuring tasks are completed accurately and with appropriate level of detail to impact end goals
  • Demonstrates experience in project management with the ability to develop project plans and manage the project to completion utilizing Microsoft Project/Excel
  • Experience in Unity, Ui/UX certification or Emulate3D and developing simulation models of the conveyor designs and virtual reality training modules
  • Proficient with Autodesk or SolidWorks 3D Software
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote and Teams)
  • Works in the office for a minimum of 1 day/week 
  • Recent graduate or pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
