Join our Application Development group at UPS Capital for an opportunity to support one of our most impactful products. We are seeking a Senior Java Developer who has 3 - 5 + years’ experience!This position performs duties and tasks to support Configuration Management, Release Management, Build/Deployment and DevOps; performing tasks within planned durations and established deadlines. The Application Developer collaborates with teams to ensure effective communication and supports the achievement of objectives. He/She provides maintenance, and support for applications. Furthermore, the Application Developer provides input, support, and performs full systems life cycle management activities (e.g., analyses, technical requirements, design, coding, testing, implementation of systems and applications software, etc.). This role participates in component and data architecture design, technology planning, and testing for Applications Development (AD) initiatives to meet business requirements. The Application Developer provides input to applications development project plans and integrations. He/She collaborates with teams and supports emerging technologies to ensure effective communication and achievement of objectives. This position provides knowledge and support for applications development, integration, and maintenance and providing input to department and project teams on decisions supporting projects.
Responsibilities:
Required
- Java 8 Hibernate 3+, JPA,
- Spring boot
- Linux/UNIX command and shell script experience
- Couch base or No SQL experience
- Application Development/Software Engineering/Design Patterns
- Azure or Cloud experience
- Object oriented design and Web Services/API Development
- Knowledge of application security concepts
- Participate in Scrum ceremonies and collaborate with onsite &offshore team members
- Supports integration builds.
- Performs systems analysis and design.
Preferable
- Java 11
- Experience with integration of application software and RDBMS
- Experience with integration of application software
- Knowledge of configuration management, release management principles including CI/CD
- Experience with scripting languages preferably Groovy script.
- Supports emerging technologies and products.
