UPS Cartage Services Inc. is currently seeking a Service Center Agent I to track and trace customer information, provide problem resolution and perform air freight rate analysis. If you're looking for an exciting career opportunity, we want to hear from you!

The ideal Service Center Agent I will have a minimum of one year customer service experience, including data/10 key entry skills, working in a fast-paced inbound/outbound air freight and cargo environment. He/She will also have strong Microsoft Office skills, along with analytical, oral and written communication, customer service, and time management skills.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Schedules and tracks shipments and updates shipment status in E2K
  • Scans and images shipment documents and keys customer invoices, export and data entry
  • Prints checks, updates cash shipments, distributes reports, and updates weight gain logs
  • Acts as a liaison between UPS Freight Forwarding and our external/internal customers, and manages customer expectations
  • Processes Inbound and Outbound Masterbill
  • Supports Dangerous Goods Outbound, Domestic and International processes
  • Works on compliance audit projects, complex daily operations reports and delinquent shipments
  • Cross-trains co-workers in processes, or customers when new products or services are introduced
  • Performs various ad hoc requests, as needed

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong customer service skills and problem solving acumen
  • Minimum of one year customer service experience
  • Expert-level understanding of transportation functions, customer service resolution and local pick-up and delivery routing, or ability to acquire desired knowledge for the local service center
  • Effective communication skills both oral and written
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills
  • General administrative skills
  • Detail oriented and organized    
  • Multitasker with ability to work in a team environment or independently
  • Knowledge and experience with Air Import and Export processes, with some unique skills in HAZMAT, Temp True, WWEF, and ODQ processes
  • Experience with Customs Boarder Protection or other government agencies - Preferred
  • Training and/or exposure for processing Dangerous Goods - Preferred
