WMS Technical Analyst

(Internal Title - Applications Developer)

About this role:

The WMS Technical Analyst performs functions on highly complex projects and provides guidance to clients and implementation team members.  This person serves as a liaison between the business community and Information Technology (I.T.) with a focus on warehouse management system capabilities.  Also uses business analysis techniques to gather and elicit business requirements and determine solutions that fit within the long-term strategic vision of the organization.  This person stays current on industry best practices, standards, trends, as well as vendor roadmaps and strategies.  They will collaborate with organizational stakeholders and management to establish and implement processes that enhance efficiency and improve work products for the enterprise.

The WMS Technical Analyst will work with the Next Gen Warehouse Management System (WMS) team implementing and supporting applications that provide warehousing solutions to business challenges and opportunities presented to us by our clients.  He/She will collaborate with clients, warehouse operations, project managers, testers, and application vendor teams to implement projects that bring value to our organization.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
  • Knowledge of warehousing and 3rd Party Logistics (3PL) processes
  • Understanding of database concepts and ability to write basic SQL statements
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of Applications and collaboration tools
  • Experience with requirements elicitation and technical documentation
  • Attention to Detail, Collaboration, and Effective Communication
  • Self-motivated learner
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline or the equivalent in education and work experience
